Hold windows over fabric to envision how it will appear when sewn in a block. Rotate for different effects. When placed on fabric, red previews filter out color revealing light and dark values of the fabric. Quilt designs are most effective when a variety of light, medium,and dark fabrics are used. Move the preview around until locating the most pleasing position of the fabric design. Use a fabric marker, make a light dot through the preview holes. Remove template, using a ruler draw lines to connect the dots. This automatically adds a 1/4 inch seam allowance to the shape. Cut out the shape on the lines. Use the handy purse size previews when fabric shopping to check effects of fabric designs. Previews may also be removed from chain and used individually.
